Eleven days prior to his 2nd birthday, Mateo Cato, aka. The Beast, received a diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Quickly, this brand new cancer family found themselves in a hard spot!
During those beginning months, Mateo experienced several major complications. This included significant swelling, being hospitalized several times and experiencing lots of the “normal” cancer symptoms.
So, as any fighting cancer family would do, they began looking for ways to help their son!
Upon finding the KICKcancER Movement and learning some of the foundational education that we teach, such as implementing raw milk into the diet, making bone broths, doing regular detoxes, etc, they were pretty skeptical about it all…to say the least!
However, they graciously trusted us, attended every single retreat and fought to educate themselves, and as they started making changes one at a time, things shifted.
Mateo started to thrive. Those challenging days became less and less. And the symptoms became fewer and fewer.
And we are happy to share that in January 2017, they celebrated their precious, energetic, beautiful little Beast and the end of his treatment!
YES…Mateo BEAT cancer, and this super sweet 5 year old continues to thrive!
Be encouraged!
There IS hope.
This journey CAN be done differently.
Your loved one CAN thrive.
And when we asked Eddie, Mateo’s Dad, to share his thoughts about this journey, particularly with KICKcancER, here is what he said…
“The KICKcancER Movement, not only provides education, but they provide support as well. That support comes in many forms. From the very late text messages about treatment issues, the sometimes very early messages about combating particular symptoms of treatment, the blog posts reminding us about many different topics, to simply just checking to see how our entire family is doing. This has all ENSURED that our cancer warrior would be given the strength that he needs to bring the fight to cancer and ultimately win. That sort of dedication is making a difference in not only our lives but in the lives of countless others. Every aspect of this movement has been invaluable. Mateo is THRIVING! This is attributed to one thing…the changes that we made because of the KICKcancER Movement, and the tireless support they have given.”
